Privacy
Clone Hero Companion works fully without an account. Signing in is optional, and everything here describes what happens only if you choose to.
If you sign in
You can sign in with Google or with a code sent to your email. When you are signed in, the app stores:
- your email address, and your name and picture if you use Google;
- your favourites;
- your play history, taken from Clone Hero's
scorestats.json: song, instrument, difficulty, score, stars, accuracy, notes hit, streak, time played and your computer's name; - an optional CH Leaderboards username, if you link one.
Where it lives
This data is kept in Supabase (hosted in the US) with row-level security, so each account can only read its own rows. It is used only to sync your data between your machines. It is never sold or shared.
Other services the app talks to
To do its job the app contacts YouTube (through yt-dlp), lyrics providers, Chorus Encore, RhythmVerse and the public CH Leaderboards API. These requests send only search terms, such as a song and artist name.
Deleting your data
To have your data deleted, open a GitHub issue or email adithyam211@gmail.com.
The current version of this policy is also kept in the project's repository.
